Browns are a Mile-High mess against Broncos

By Jeff Schudel Lake County News-Herald

First The Drive, then The Fumble and after Sunday, The Fiasco. The Browns, looking as lost as though they went to bed in their team hotel on Saturday night and woke up on Mars, were drilled by the Broncos, 27-6, to fall to 0-2 under Eric Mangini. The way they played in the first two games of 2009, the fall might not end until the season does.

Game Preview Week 2: Browns at Broncos

Time: 4:15 p.m.
Date: Sunday, Sept. 20
•Place: Invesco Field at Mile High, Denver, Colo.
•Last meeting: 2008, Broncos 34-30
•TV: CBS and DirecTV 716

The Browns move onto the second week with the first of two road games. Sunday's game at Denver is the Browns longest road trip (in mileage) all season.

Last season, the Browns had the Broncos beat on a Thursday night in Cleveland before a fourth-quarter rally by Jay Cutler led Denver to the come-from-behind four-point victory.

It can be argued, however, that Denver not only didn't improve, but got worse in the offseason. This has all the makings of a easy Browns victory this week, but with the Browns nothing comes easy.

TC Backers attend 2009 Season Opener

20 lucky TC Browns Backers took advantage of the annual group ticket offer and and attended the 2009 season opener against Brett Favre and the Minnesota Vikings.

We enjoyed our best tailgate party ever, with nearly everyone coming by the tent to have a something to eat and drink. Kudos to Erin and Kelly for organizing the party once again. The pulled pork this year was great. Keep a look out for the self launching champagne corks!

Browns don't lend much support to fan optimism

By Terry Pluto Cleveland Plain Dealer

If you're a Browns fan, how are you supposed to feel about this?

Your team actually had a 13-10 lead over Minnesota -- at the half. And Jamal Lewis really did have more yards on the ground (32) than Adrian Peterson (25).

The Browns had sacked Brett Favre twice, and they were called for only two penalties.

Now consider the final score: Minnesota 34, Browns 20. Consider it wasn't even that close, and Minnesota had a 34-13 lead. Consider how the Browns just fell apart in the second half of this home opener.

At the half, I thought it would be different.
